Rockstar has announced a new special edition of GTA 5, seemingly aimed at bringing in new players - but don't expect anything new for existing players.
Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Online Edition will be available on Steam, Xbox One and PS4, and comprises the full GTA V package (including the single player game and a fully-updated GTA Online) and a Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack bonus.
This pack seems to be aimed at bringing new players into the series as the Starter Pack gives GTA Online players weapons, properties, and vehicles as well $1,000,000 of in-game currency - a total of $10,000,000 of in-game item value.
The Premium Online Edition costs $79.99 USD / £59.99 / $99.95 AUD for a physical Xbox One or PS4 version or $84.99 USD / £67.99 / $110.34 AUD on Steam.

The lifecycle of something B-grade usually goes like so: Critics get the first whiff. It smells bad enough to stain their tongues, which they use to crow about said badness. In gaming, this can be an especially cruel time for ‘mid-tier’ games, because unlike cinema there is still little precedent for them. Mixed to middling reviews ensue. Deadlines and first impressions are, together, incapable of finding the blood diamond in what is sometimes overtly dismissed. Time passes, though, and some people wonder: “Why and how am I enjoying this?”

Firewatch developer Canto Santo has been acquired by Valve.
A post on Campo Santo’s official site explains that the company’s 12 employees have “agreed to join Valve” and will “maintain our jobs as video game developers and continue production on our current project, In the Valley of Gods.”
“We had a series of long conversations with the people at Valve and everyone shared the satisfaction we take in working with people whose talents dwarf our own to make things we never thought possible,” the post reads. “Both sides spoke about our values and how, when you get right down to it, we, as human beings, are hard-limited by the time we have left when it comes to making the things we care about and believe in. They asked us if we’d all be interested in coming up to Bellevue and doing that there and we said yes.”...

Not all PCs need to be hulking behemoths. If you want to save a little space (and, potentially, a little cash), a micro ATX build could be the way to go. With a slightly smaller form factor than ATX, but bigger than Mini-ITX, micro ATX motherboards forego some features like extra PCIe slots and SATA ports, but have enough bells and whistles to allow you to build a serious PC in a smallish enclosure.

Ben Brode, game director for Blizzard's wildly popular card game, Hearthstone, is leaving the company to start one of his own.
Brode made the announcement in a post on the Blizzard forums, where he told fans "after 15 years at Blizzard and almost 10 years working on Hearthstone, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to embark on a new journey" before continuing, "man, that was a hard sentence to type."
Brode says he is leaving the massive game developer to help start a new company.
"We’ll probably make games" Brode says, "but we haven’t figured anything else out, yet," he said, noting he's "looking forward to designing, programming, and actually creating things again."

Scavengers Studio's battle royale game, Darwin Project, is going free-to-play on Steam beginning today, April 20.
Darwin Project was released on Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview in early March for $15 USD. However, according to Scavengers Studio, there weren't enough players in certain regions to fill the servers. "We want the game to reach as many players as possible," the studio said, "so we decided to release Darwin Project for free sooner than we anticipated."
The pricing change is currently reflected on Steam, though the Xbox One version is still listed at $15 USD. When asked whether or not the console version will be going free-to-play as well, Scavengers Studio told IGN, "We'll have more to share about Darwin Project on Xbox One soon."

The first time I dropped into the Radical Heights map and began to skydive toward the ground, I wondered when exactly my parachute would go off. By the time it was already too late, I realized it wasn’t going to. Instead, my character hit the ground with a tuck and roll straight out of an action movie and the fight began. Unfortunately, that’s about where the excitement stops in Radical Heights. Between its cringe-worthy style, shooting that doesn’t feel quite right, and a few lackluster systems, Radical Heights is currently little more than a forgettable entry in the battle royale genre.
Radical Heights is the newest game from LawBreakers developer Boss Key Productions, released on Steam into what they are calling "X-Treme Early Access." The premise isn’t much different from other battle royale games: 100 players skydive into a match in search of random weapons and gear in hopes of being the last player standing....
